What people are saying about Nurture From Scratch

"Valori recently worked with my husband and I as a postpartum doula and lactation specialist following the birth of our first child, who arrived 3 weeks early. Valori’s knowledge, patience, sensitivity, and respect for our family as a whole truly sets her apart. She has a realness and connectivity about her that is so grounding, especially at a time when we were at our most vulnerable and emotional state as first time parents following a high-risk pregnancy. I often found myself talking to Valori on the couch, taking in her stories and guidance on multiple challenges connected to breastfeeding, navigating family dynamics, baby wearing, and all the early education of learning how to nurture and care for my colicky newborn. Valori also helped us navigate nursing hurdles due to lip tie and jaundice (which made him extra sleepy and unmotivated to latch). I contribute our continued success with nursing to Valori’s support and guidance in those early months. I truly don’t know how we would have managed the newborn stage without her encouragement and knowledge. Valori is a gem! I cherish the time we had with her, and I look forward to having her by our side when we decide to have our next baby."

I HIGHLY recommend using Valori as a postpartum doula!!  I didn't even realize these types of doula's existed until she taught me about her services.  Valori came over and helped watch my toddler and newborn (2 under 2!) while I could go and get some MUCH NEEDED TLC.  While I was gone, Valori fed both children and also cleaned our house!  She also showed me the correct bottles to use while breastfeeding showed me how my newborn possibly had a lip tie and how it could effect breastfeeding.

Postpartum doulas are so helpful in saving time and your sanity.  She had also offered to run errands for me while I was out of the house.  Valori is very knowledgeable about all things breastfeeding and newborns, and she has also been available to me as well for any questions I may have.  Be sure to check out Nurture from Scratch!! Totally worth it!!

Valori was a wealth of information! She thoroughly answered all of my questions and walked me through the first moments of postpartum through my most worrisome topic, breast feeding. She had loads of resources that I could reference after our session was over.

You wouldn’t think 3 hours would have gone by so quickly! She shared tons of information about a variety of postpartum topics that I feel like most people don’t talk about. I truly appreciated how she started off by asking me my biggest questions and concerns and went from there.

Working with Valori was a privilege during such a special and tender time - the birth of our first born!  She is compassionate, supporting, kind, and hands on.
